Babies...

The things kids say...

At dinner Bailey said... "Kids at school say that Obama kills babies that mom's don't want". OK, why are second graders talking about that?? I address moral things with my kids, but maybe not so bluntly. I guess it's true, although I did make sure she knew that he himself was not there murdering the babies. But the fact that I had to explain that to her, while being VERY careful so I didn't have to explain other things too, was very irritating to me!

I'm so ready for all this political stuff is almost over... and I just deleted the huge paragraph that I had to follow that statement. Have a good night!

I can imagine the paragraph deleted... maybe? I'm so ready for the political climate to cool off, as this election has me more torn than ever before. I just keep my mouth shut around almost every person I know...

Hey weird... the captcha is a real word for once! That's handy for lookie-loo typers like me. :)

Also... I couldn't comment on your contest site?

Yes- as I sit at my desk 30 minutes before school even starts and hear one particular kid YELLING about some issues in this election, I realize that some people are getting the issues confused- not good at 7th grade, and definitely not good at 2nd.

I can't believe that! It sounds like you handled the situation well. I, too, am sick of all the political stuff - well, except for SNL. :) Just have to get through tomorrow & we're done. Either way the Lord has a plan, right?

So weird, I had the same conversation with Maddie about this. She also heard things at school. The only good thing out of all this is that our kids came to us with a distorted idea and we were able to answer their questions as truthfully sensitive as possible!

Yeah!! My kids have brought up Obama doing bad stuff to babies and worrying about stuff they shouldn't have to think about at their age. It is really too bad.

Okay, Katie came home with that exact same question earlier this week. She and Bailey must run in the same playground pack. I, too, was annoyed at having to explain the whole thing. I don't get why some people think that second graders are old enough to process all of this kind of stuff. Let them be kids yet!

That stinks you had to go there with her already. The questions get tough when they get older. I really want to see what was in the paragraph you deleted!

PS I commented on your site!
